ASU’s Ding dominates college event, possibly breaking NCAA record

Wenyi Ding, a freshman at Arizona State, recently won the prestigious Amer Ari Invitational by nine shots, with a 10-under 62 in the final round. This led to a 27-under 189 total, believed to be an NCAA men’s 54-hole scoring record, according to College Golf Book.

The record-tying round included 10 birdies and no bogeys, and it followed rounds of 63-64. Ding, the 2022 U.S. Junior champion, is ranked No. 13 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.

Wenyi Ding’s college career has started off on a strong note as he led the field to victory at the Amer Ari Invitational with a total score of 27-under 189.
