The Bills offense started off slow in the first half, relying on field goals to keep their lead against the Jets. However, they have since found success in the third quarter, with Josh Allen connecting with Khalil Shakir for his third touchdown pass of the day at 6:29 left in the third quarter. This extended the Bills’ lead to 29-6.

On the play, Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner attempted to intercept the ball but missed, allowing Shakir to break through for an 81-yard touchdown. This marked the longest play from scrimmage in the NFL season so far.

Prior to this long touchdown pass, Allen also scored a touchdown on the Bills’ first drive of the second half, connecting with running back Ty Johnson. In his first game with interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady calling the plays, Allen has completed 19-of-29 passes for 273 yards.

Following the Jets’ punt on their first possession of the third quarter, it appears that they are struggling to find the offensive prowess needed to make a comeback in the game.
