Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is currently in Brussels, met with the European Commission’s General Director for Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Khert Jan Kupman, to discuss issues related to the security situation in the South Caucasus. According to the spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the two officials exchanged ideas on addressing the medium and long-term needs of those displaced from Nagorno Karabakh. They also discussed the possibilities of further promoting the “Crossroads of Peace” program developed by the Government of Armenia. In addition, they referred to a wide range of issues on the RA-EU bilateral agenda, particularly the effective implementation of the provisions of the RA-EU Comprehensive and Extended Partnership Agreement.
As part of his visit to Brussels, Ararat Mirzoyan departed for participation in the 5th session of the RA-EU Partnership Council. The session will take place on February 13th and will involve participation from various officials from both countries. The agenda will include discussions on implementing comprehensive and extended partnership agreement between Armenia and EU as well as security situation in South Caucasus and other regional issues.
