On November 18, the day of Remembrance Day, an incident occurred near Nuštra where a vehicle with Sombor license plates was attacked by four young men with Vukovar license plates. The attack took place in the presence of the police who did not intervene or interview the attackers. An eyewitness to the incident shared that he was driving slowly in a convoy of cars when an Audi with Vukovar registrations began harassing the car with Serbian license plates.
The witness recorded the incident on his cell phone as the young men in the Audi cursed, verbally abused and physically attacked the drivers of the other car. Despite several police vehicles being at the scene, the attackers were not stopped and eventually left without any consequences. The witness further shared that he went to a nearby police station in Vinkovci and was told by them that the victims did not want to press charges or go to court, implying that the case would be dismissed.
