Tre’Davious White to be released by Bills

Buffalo Bills veteran cornerback Tre’Davious White has been cut from the team, with the designation of a post-June 1 cut in order to save $10.2 million in salary cap space for the 2024 season. However, they will still have $6.2 million in dead money from his release. The 29-year-old White, a two-time Pro Bowler, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in Week Four of last year.

Following his release, White will become a free agent and will be looking for a new team that believes he will be fully healthy in 2024 and is willing to give him a chance to continue as a starting cornerback. The Bills had a busy day making moves, as they also cut Mitch Morse, Deonte Harty, Jordan Poyer, and Siran Neal, while restructuring the contract of Rasul Douglas.

The Bills entered this offseason in a tough salary cap situation, forcing them to make these moves to get under the cap. White’s release is a significant move for a team that is looking to make necessary changes in order to move forward in the 2024 season. It remains to be seen where White will end up next, but he will surely be on the radar of teams in need of cornerback help.
