A traffic accident occurred on Sunday morning at 9:35 a.m. near Drežnik, Karlovac, according to the Karlovac Police Department. The accident involved a passenger car with Ogulin license plates and a police vehicle with Zagreb license plates driven by a 56-year-old man. According to the police report, the 55-year-old driver of the passenger car was traveling at an inappropriate speed in a slight bend when he collided with the rear of the police vehicle. The force of the impact threw both vehicles into a metal guardrail on the central belt before they bounced back onto the roadway.
The accident resulted in serious injuries for a 55-year-old man from the passenger car and slight injuries for a 56-year-old man driving the police vehicle and his 53-year-old passenger. For causing the traffic accident, the 56-year-old driver will be issued a mandatory misdemeanor order, and a report will be forwarded to the competent state attorney.
