In the heart of New York City, a devastating shooting occurred in a subway station. One person was killed and five others were injured, all at the start of rush hour. This horrific event took place on an elevated train platform in the Bronx around 4:30 p.m., during one of the busiest times in train stations across the city.

The NYC Fire Department spokesperson confirmed that four of the injured were rushed to hospitals with serious injuries, while one person died at the scene. The police have not released any further details about what led to this tragic event, but have announced a manhunt for the shooter who fled the scene.

Eyewitnesses shared their harrowing experiences with local media outlets. “I was on my way home from work when I heard screams,” said Efrain Feliciano, 61, to the Daily News. “There were at least six shots,” he continued. “I saw sparks when the bullets hit the wall.” Feliciano also described seeing a woman holding a screaming child in her arms.

According to police sources, they suspect that this shooting was a result of an argument that escalated into violence and ended with one person pulling out a gun and firing multiple shots before fleeing the scene.
