Mitch Morse and Deonte Harty to be Released by Bills

The Buffalo Bills are clearing cap space and making necessary roster moves ahead of the new league year, which begins next week. As part of these efforts, the team has released center Mitch Morse and kick returner Deonte Harty, according to reports from NFL Media.

Mitch Morse was set to make $8.5 million this year, but his departure will free up valuable cap space for the Bills. Deonte Harty’s release will also help financially, as it clears $4.315 million in cap space. However, there will be over $4.625 million in dead money left behind as a result of these moves. Despite this, the Bills have gained over $8 million in cap space with the cuts involving the two safeties.

Mitch Morse has been with the Bills since 2019 and has been a consistent presence in the starting lineup, playing in all 87 regular season and playoff games during his time with the team. Deonte Harty, who spent just one year with the Bills, made an impact with 15 catches for 150 yards and a touchdown. He also had a memorable 96-yard punt return for a touchdown during his time in Buffalo.
