At the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center, Cameron took on eighth-seed Pocahontas County in a Class A quarterfinal matchup. Despite being the top seed, Cameron initially struggled to maintain their lead over Pocahontas County. However, the second half saw a surge from the all-star player Ashlynn Van Tassell, leading to a 64-27 victory for Cameron and advancement to the semifinals.

Van Tassell’s impressive performance included scoring 29 points, grabbing 25 rebounds, and recording six steals. Ashlee Dobbs added 11 points and nine rebounds, while Emilee Dobbs contributed six points and five assists for Cameron. Meanwhile, Riley Pollack led Pocahontas County with nine points and Calli Propst contributed 11 rebounds.

Despite their best efforts, Pocahontas County ultimately fell short of victory, finishing their season with a record of 13-13 under head coach Mike Kane. The game statistics showed that Cameron’s solid defense and scoring ability were key factors in their win.

Overall, the game was well-played by both teams but ultimately saw Cameron emerge as the victor and move on to the next round of the tournament.
