Crowds Pack CHI Health Center in Omaha for NCAA Games

Basketball fans from Lincoln to Des Moines flocked to Omaha on Saturday to watch NCAA games at the CHI Health Center. Iowa State faced off against Washington State, and many Cyclone fans, like Scott and Teyona Steenhoek, found the experience of being there in person much more enjoyable than watching on TV. The Steenhoeks made the easy drive from Prairie City, just east of Des Moines, for their fifth March Madness tournament. They love supporting the Cyclones and the atmosphere of the games.

Duane Asbe, a lifelong Iowa State fan, traveled over four hours for the game. He is hopeful that the team will go far in the tournament, but he is taking it one game at a time. Asbe noted that the team is playing well and is closely connected from the coaching staff to the bench, making them fun to watch. Jennifer McIntyre, whose son plays basketball at MIT, expressed her love for the sport and the friendships that have been built over the years through basketball. She emphasized the support they have received from great coaches.

Leo Milan shared his lifelong love for college basketball and the special atmosphere of the NCAA tournament. He enjoys seeing fans from different schools come together to cheer on their teams. Milan finds the energy and excitement of the tournament to be a unique and thrilling experience.
