In 2023, Novak Đoković made history by becoming the first tennis player to spend 400 weeks at the number one spot in the ATP ranking. This remarkable achievement was a result of his victory in the final ATP tournament, where he played against Jannik Sinner and emerged victorious.

Đoković first reached the top spot on July 4, 2011, and has held it ever since. He shared this position with Carlos Alcaraz earlier in 2023, but ultimately secured his place as the best tennis player of the year for an eighth time. This accomplishment was particularly meaningful to him, as he described it as “the dream of every tennis player.”

His success is attributed to his team’s contributions to his journey. He expressed gratitude for their hard work and dedication. As a result of his triumphant season, Đoković will kick off 2024 as the best tennis player in the world, positioning himself for at least 409 weeks in the top spot.

Looking ahead to next year, Đoković is poised to become only the third tennis player in history with more than 1,100 career wins. All he needs are two more titles to reach the milestone of 100 wins. With his talent and determination, it’s likely that he will achieve this goal and cement his place as one of the greatest players in tennis history.
