EKU to host Kentucky Science and Engineering Fair next weekend

The annual Kentucky Science and Engineering Fair will take place next weekend at Eastern Kentucky University’s Student Recreation Center on March 23. Approximately 300 students from across the Commonwealth will attend, showcasing their top middle school and high school projects. Director Jason Marion explains that the projects on display are not typical school fair projects. They range from solving environmental problems to human health issues and complex mathematical equations that challenge many people.

Marion emphasizes that the fair aims to help Kentucky’s brightest students develop their skills and talents. He shares stories of past participants who have gone on to achieve great success in fields like medicine, pharmacy, and engineering. The fair’s top winners will have the opportunity to compete at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles, facing off against students from around the world.

Those interested in viewing the projects can do so between 7:30 and 9:15 a.m. on March 23 at Eastern Kentucky University’s Student Recreation Center. Judging will follow and will not be open to the public. WEKU is committed to providing accurate and reliable news and relies on the support of monthly donors to fund its operations.
