Five injured after bear walks through Slovak town

A brown bear caused chaos in a town in Slovakia, injuring five people with bite wounds and scratches. Mayor of Liptovsky Mikulas, Jan Blchac, reported the incident to the TASR agency, stating that the victims ranged from 10 to 72 years old. Fortunately, they were able to leave the hospital, although one person almost lost an eye.

Following the attack, a crisis staff was formed in the city of Liptovsky Mikulas, home to about 31,500 residents. Reports suggest that the bear crossed the Vah River and entered a residential area, being spotted near a shopping center before fleeing into a wooded area. The city council made the decision to shoot the bear, although its gender is still unknown.

In a separate incident, a 31-year-old woman from Belarus tragically died after fleeing from a brown bear and falling from a slope in the Demänovska Dolina valley near the winter sports village of Jasna, in the Low Tatras. Slovakia is home to around 1,100 to 1,200 wild bears, which generally avoid human contact but can become aggressive in certain situations.

In the midst of these bear-related incidents, financial and technology news, as well as updates on property management and culture, continue to circulate on various platforms. The town of Liptovsky Mikulas and surrounding areas in Slovakia are now on alert for any further bear sightings or incidents.
