Construction has commenced on the new Froedtert ThedaCare Health, Inc. hospital campus on the west side of Fond du Lac. This was announced officially on February 13th, with the new facility set to be located at 755 W. Johnson St., which was previously the site of the Younkers store at Forest Mall.
The hospital is expected to be completed by 2025 and will offer round-the-clock access to emergency, inpatient, and outpatient care. The $35 million project will result in a smaller-scale, modern facility with services that may expand over time based on community needs.
During a press conference at the groundbreaking, Froedtert ThedaCare Health President Imran Andrabi explained that the goal of the new campus is to provide coordinated care close to home. The construction of approximately 25,000 square feet of hospital space will be completed by Miron Construction. This joint venture between Froedtert Health and ThedaCare aims to provide high-quality healthcare services in the Fond du Lac area.
In addition to the hospital, a temporary clinic has already opened on Fond du Lac’s east side, with a permanent clinic currently under construction nearby. This venture in Fond du Lac is part of a larger initiative by Froedtert ThedaCare Health, which also includes plans for a hospital in Oshkosh. With this new development, residents of Fond du Lac and the surrounding area can look forward to enhanced healthcare services coming to their community in the near future.
