On Monday night, the Giants made a significant addition to their free-agent acquisition list by signing outfielder Jorge Soler to a three-year contract. Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reported the news, which is a major step forward for San Francisco as they look to improve their offensive capabilities.

At 31 years old, Soler brings much-needed power to the Giants’ lineup. He had a great 2023 season with the Miami Marlins, hitting 36 home runs and posting a .250/.341/.512 slash line. He was also the World Series MVP in 2021 with the Atlanta Braves, helping them win the championship with a .300 batting average, three home runs, and six RBIs.

The Giants have taken a step in the right direction by adding Soler to their roster. His power and talent will be valuable assets for San Francisco as they look to compete in the NL West division. The team has been struggling with its offensive capabilities in recent seasons, and Soler’s addition could help change that narrative.
