Greenfield business suffers loss due to fire

A fire at a commercial business in Greenfield, Tennessee resulted in significant loss. The fire occurred on a Saturday afternoon at the Greenfield Marble Shop, with the Greenfield Fire Department being notified around 4:30 p.m. Several fire departments, including Greenfield, Sharon, Bradford, and Dresden, responded to the scene, along with pumpers from Gibson County. Approximately 60,000 gallons of water were used to extinguish the fire.

Greenfield Fire Chief Bob Dudley reported that the fire caused the shop to be a total loss, with nine structures affected and three completely destroyed by the blaze. Chief Dudley estimated that over a million dollars in damages were incurred, marking the first major loss for the owner of the business. Fortunately, there were no fatalities and no firefighters were injured during the incident.
