LaDonna Lynn Phelps, 64, passed away peacefully in her home in Newton Falls on November 16th, 2023. Born as the daughter of Leon and Lillian Reynolds Garrett in Elberton, Georgia, on January 16th, 1959, she was a devoted Christian who attended Elberton Church of God.
After completing her nursing degree at Athens Technical School, LaDonna spent over three decades working as a nurse before retiring from her last job at Victoria House in 2021. In her free time, she enjoyed various hobbies such as crocheting, sewing, baking, playing the piano and painting pictures.
LaDonna married Walter Phelps on April 25th, 1995 and is survived by her mother Lillian Reynolds Garrett, husband Walter Phelps, sons Wesley Davis and Tyler Phelps and daughter Julie Davis. She also has three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Her father Leon Garrett passed away before her.
The family requests that donations be made to the ALS Association Northern Ohio chapter in honor of LaDonna’s memory. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 6 p.m., with services to follow at Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls on Tuesday November 21st at 6 p.m.
