Patrick Holford is a renowned nutrition and mental health expert, who has dedicated his life to promoting the importance of proper nutrition for brain health. As the author of several books and founder and CEO of the UK charity Food for the Brain, he has been advocating for a high-fat, vitamin-rich diet since the 1970s.

Holford is concerned about the decline in IQ scores over the years and believes that diets high in complex carbs and sugar are to blame. He argues that mental health problems such as depression, autism, ADHD, and dementia are on the rise and that children’s mental health issues are particularly alarming.

Food for the Brain is addressing these concerns by using at-home blood spot tests and digital cognitive health questionnaires to analyze the nutrition and cognition status of thousands of participants. The charity provides nutrition advice to participants and is building a substantial databank to support its cause. Through these efforts, Food for the Brain hopes to bring about a shift in perceptions around mental and cognitive health.
