Javier López Espinosa’s dream of visiting the Large Hadron Collider at last.

Javier Alberto López Espinosa, a 17-year-old high school student at La Salle, is excited to fulfill his dream of visiting the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland. This opportunity came after he was selected to participate in a five-day camp at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), where the Large Hadron Collider is located.

Despite his busy schedule, which includes participating in mathematics competitions, conducting research projects, and attending a reading club, López Espinosa made it through a rigorous selection process to secure a spot at the camp. He had to provide letters of recommendation, write essays, and showcase his academic achievements in order to be considered.

When López Espinosa received the news of his selection, he was overjoyed and eager to learn from the experts at CERN. His goal is to leverage the knowledge and skills he gains during the camp to make contributions to the scientific development of Mexico once he returns.

Inspired by renowned physicists like François Englert and Peter Higgs, López Espinosa is driven by his passion for particle physics. He believes that finding one’s passion and dedicating time to studying it is key to personal growth and success. As he prepares for his trip to CERN, he is excited about the opportunity to pursue his dream and make a difference in the field of science.
