Kyle Dugger signs four-year contract with New England Patriots

The New England Patriots and safety Kyle Dugger have reached an agreement on a new contract, according to NFL Media. Dugger is set to sign a four-year deal with the team after the Patriots used their transition tag on him earlier in the offseason. This move allowed them to match any offer Dugger received from another team, although he never signed an offer sheet elsewhere.

In this new contract, Dugger will have a base value of $58 million with a maximum of $66 million and $32.5 million in guaranteed money. This is a significant increase from the $13.815 million he was set to make under the transition tag. Dugger was originally drafted by the Patriots in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

During his time in New England, Dugger has accumulated impressive stats, including 343 tackles, 2.5 sacks, nine interceptions, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two interception returns for touchdowns, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. This new contract solidifies his place as a key player in the Patriots’ defense for years to come.
