On Monday, head coach Jonathan Gannon announced that linebacker Kyzir White will be out for the rest of the season after tearing his bicep during Sunday’s game against the Texans. White had been a key player for the Cardinals, playing the first 709 defensive snaps of the season. Despite trying to play through the injury, he eventually left the game, and it was “gut-wrenching” to watch.
White had been leading the team in tackles with a team-high 90 tackles, two sacks, nine tackles for loss, and three passes defensed. His absence will be felt on the field as he is signed with the team until 2024. In his absence, Krys Barnes stepped into his spot while Josh Woods took over calling the defense after White had to leave the game.
The Cardinals will have to adjust without White’s presence on the field for the remainder of the season. While it is a setback for the team, they are committed to making sure their players stay healthy and safe throughout their season.
