Lakeland Community College in Kirtland is hosting several free events this spring to introduce prospective students to careers in health care. The college is offering 11 events through April, showcasing various cutting-edge and high-growth programs. The highlight of the season will be the Health Programs Open House, which takes place on April 4 from 3:30 to 6 p.m.
At the open house, attendees can tour Lakeland’s Health Technologies (H) Building and learn from professionals about careers in direct patient care and behind-the-scenes administrative or laboratory work. Regina Prosser, the dean for health technologies at Lakeland, emphasized the outstanding job placement rates for degree and certificate earners in the college’s health programs.
Lakeland has a total of 21 health programs offered, providing an opportunity for prospective students to speak directly with faculty to identify their field of interest. Some of the programs place students into the workforce in as little as eight weeks, making it accessible training for high-demand careers.
