Low-cost rabies clinics in April offered by Mobile County Health Department

Mobile County, Alabama requires that dogs, cats, and ferrets be vaccinated by law. Luckily, pet owners in Mobile have access to resources to help ensure their animals receive the necessary vaccinations. The Mobile County Health Department is offering low-cost rabies shots for dogs, cats, and ferrets at a series of drive-through clinics in April.

The remaining clinics for this month are scheduled as follows: April 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Mobile County Animal Shelter, and from 1 to 3 p.m. at Pet Supplies Plus. On April 20 from 10 a.m. to noon, a clinic will be held at Glamour Paws Grooming, and on April 26 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Prichard Animal Shelter.

The clinics offer one-year rabies vaccines for $12, which must be paid in cash. This initiative is part of a larger program aimed at ensuring that animals are protected against rabies.

In 2023, the program vaccinated 2,004 household pets. For more information on the rabies vaccination clinics, visit the Mobile County Health Department’s website. Stay updated on news, weather, sports, and streaming video by visiting WKRG News 5.
