Mark S. Wrighton, a renowned scientist and academic, has been appointed as the chair of the Saint Louis Science Center’s board of commissioners. In this role, he works closely with the center’s president to improve and enhance its programs and initiatives.

The Science Center is a unique institution that makes science, technology, engineering, and math accessible to the St. Louis region and beyond through interactive experiences. It is one of only a few free nonprofit science museums in the country and attracts nearly half a million visitors every year, making it one of the largest science centers in the U.S. and abroad.

Before his career in university administration, Wrighton made significant contributions to the fields of photochemistry, surface chemistry, and electrochemistry through his research achievements. He previously served as a member of the Science Center’s board of commissioners and for many years on its board of trustees. With his extensive background in both academia and industry, Wrighton brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role at the Science Center.
