Memorial Health explores sale of 112-bed nursing facility

Memorial Health, located in Marysville, Ohio, has announced plans to sell its 112-bed nursing home and rehabilitation facility, Memorial Gables. This decision was reached following discussions with the health system’s board of trustees regarding its future strategic direction, as stated in a March 12 news release from Memorial Health.

The release mentioned that hospitals nationwide are reassessing the services they offer to ensure patients receive the best care possible. Aging care communities, including Memorial Gables, are facing financial difficulties, leading to significant losses.

Union County commissioners are assisting in finding a new owner for the facility, as they currently own it. Memorial Health is seeking an owner who will commit to maintaining the workforce at Memorial Gables and continue to provide services for seniors.

Residents and employees of Memorial Gables will not be affected during the ownership search process. The search for a new owner can take several months, and discussions and agreements will need to be made before any final decisions are reached.

In addition to Memorial Gables, Memorial Health includes Memorial Hospital in Marysville, satellite outpatient locations, Memorial Medical Group with a network of 53 providers, and the Memorial Health Foundation.
