Metsä Group Announces 100 Million Euro Investment Plan for Tissue Paper Factory in Mänttä

The Metsä Group is set to invest EUR 100 million in a major modernization project for its Mänttä tissue paper mill. The aim of the investment program is to extend the life cycle of the mill and improve its efficiency and sustainability. This initiative is part of the company’s Future Factory strategy, which seeks to achieve world-class performance in tissue paper production while reducing environmental impact.

The investment program will be implemented over five years and will focus on modernizing paper machines and processing lines, as well as improving energy and water efficiency. The goal is to ensure that the factory remains competitive while also supporting Metsä Group’s goal of fossil-free products and production facilities by 2030.

Metsä Tissue, a subsidiary of Metsä Group, will oversee the implementation of the investment program. Joonas Kukkonen, Vice President of Supply Chain at Forest Tissue Finland and the Baltics, explains that this project is an extension of ongoing investments in Mariestad, Sweden, Great Britain, and other international factories. By modernizing operations in Finland, Metsä Tissue can continue to provide high-quality tissue products to customers while creating jobs and improving local sustainability.
