Marco Odermatt continues his flawless giant slalom record in Bansko with his sixth World Cup win of the season

Marco Odermatt has continued to dominate in giant slalom, claiming his sixth FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup win of the season in the discipline. In the first run in Bansko, Bulgaria, Odermatt led by 0.35 seconds over Norway’s Alexander Steen Olsen. This win marks Odermatt’s 10th World Cup victory of the season and puts him in a strong position to secure the overall crystal globe.

In the second run, Odermatt was once again the fastest of the late starters, crossing the finish line 0.91 seconds ahead of Steen Olsen. This performance allowed him to increase his lead in the standings to over 800 points and cement his position as a favorite to win a third small crystal globe in giant slalom.

Steen Olsen finished in second place for the first time in his career and was joined on the podium by Austria’s Manuel Feller who took third place. Fans can watch more of Odermatt’s impressive performances during the 2023-24 winter sports season on Eurosport and discovery+.
