Officials from UFL and STL are preparing for a significant announcement on Thursday

The United Football League has called a news conference in St. Louis at The Dome at America’s Center for what they described as a significant event for the upcoming 2024 season. Joining in the announcement will be St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones and Kitty Ratcliffe, President of Explore St. Louis.

The UFL, which is the result of a merger between the XFL and USFL, is set to begin play on March 30. The St. Louis Battlehawks will play their home opener on April 6 against the Arlington Renegades. The Battlehawks have had success in attendance, leading the XFL in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season and setting a record for modern spring football attendance last season. League officials have praised the St. Louis market as their “gold standard.”

The venue for the UFL championship game has not yet been announced. The XFL’s 2023 title game was held in San Antonio. Head Coach Anthony Becht, UFL President Russ Brandon, and Daryl Johnston, UFL Executive Vice President, will also be present at the news conference.

In addition to the announcement, there will be a town hall event open to the public starting at 5:30 p.m. at Ballpark Village, where the group will be appearing as well.
