Nearly $4.6 million in funding has been awarded by the Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust to support 11 community projects aimed at improving health outcomes in the state. TSET will be supporting projects such as the development of community parks and trail systems, improvements to community fitness centers, and the creation of ADA-compliant sidewalks and playgrounds.
The 11 awardees and their respective projects are listed in the funding breakdown below:
* Project Title: Community Park Development
Project Description: Develop a comprehensive plan for a new community park that includes walking trails, picnic areas, and other amenities.
Funding Amount: $350,000
* Project Title: Trails System Development
Project Description: Develop a multi-use trail system that connects different parts of the community and encourages physical activity.
Funding Amount: $250,000
* Project Title: Community Fitness Center Improvements
Project Description: Upgrade equipment and facilities at community fitness centers to encourage more people to use them.
Funding Amount: $250,000
