The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce session priorities gathering in St. Paul is an annual tradition that brings together legislative leaders and KSTP-TV political reporter Tom Hauser to discuss the upcoming session’s priorities. During this event, each leader was asked a series of rapid-fire questions, providing brief answers that shed light on the legislature’s goals for the coming year.

The legislators discussed a range of topics during the lightning round, including the likelihood of passing a sports betting bill, which colleague from the opposition they would welcome into their caucus, whether state permitting is too burdensome or appropriate, whether strong beer should be sold in grocery stores, whether to reform the Met Council, and how their business communities viewed the legislative session.

Despite their differing perspectives on these issues, all four leaders agreed that this annual session provides valuable insight into the possible legislative priorities for the next year. By sharing their predictions for the upcoming legislative session, they hope to foster greater understanding and cooperation among elected officials and stakeholders alike.
