Sally Beauty’s Rooted in Success: Celebrating Black Hair and Culture through Collaboration with The Black Hair Experience

Sally Beauty Introduces ‘Rooted In Science’ Series in Celebration of Black History Month

Sally Beauty, a renowned retailer of high-quality hair color and care, has recently teamed up with The Black Hair Experience, an organization dedicated to celebrating Black hair and culture, to launch the first “Rooted in Success” event series. This collaboration is part of Sally Beauty’s commitment to building a community that fosters connections within the textured hair industry.

The event series will kick off with two pop-up events on February 24th in Atlanta and March 16th in Washington DC. These events aim to bring together students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), entrepreneurs, Black-founded beauty brands, and consumers to engage in meaningful discussions about the importance of representation in the beauty industry.

Sally Beauty currently carries an extensive range of over 100 textured hair brands, including over 50 that are Black-owned or founded. The retailer is also home to six emerging Black-founded brands from its small business focused Cultivate Accelerator Program. This spring, HBCU-enrolled students in the US will receive a 10% discount on all Sally Beauty products both in-store and online as a show of appreciation for their continued support.

“We believe that beauty is a powerful form of self-expression,” said John Goss, President of Sally Beauty. “Our role is to facilitate access beyond quality products by providing opportunities for influential industry leaders to engage, inspire, and connect with consumers and young entrepreneurs.” At Rooted in Success, Sally Beauty aims to showcase founder-led stories from both established and emerging Black beauty leaders while celebrating this partnership through local events and continued support year-round.
