Barcelona forward Marc Guiu scored a crucial goal for Spain in their 2-1 victory over Japan at the Under-17 World Cup, helping them advance to the quarter-finals of the competition. In their final group fixture, Quim Junyent, Guiu’s teammate from Barcelona, opened the scoring for Spain after just eight minutes of play. Japan equalised five minutes before halftime, but in the second half, Junyent provided an assist that led to Guiu’s winning goal.

Junyent was awarded man of the match honours after his impressive performance in the game. Spain will now face either Germany or the USA in their next match and will be hoping to make it through to the semi-finals. If they do end up playing Germany, they will come face to face with Noah Darvich from their own club, who has been a standout player for his national side throughout the tournament so far.
