Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce has become one of the NFL’s most famous faces, not only for his talent on the field but for his big personality. Much of his personality might have come from his mother, Donna Kelce, who is also known for her own fame – for her famous chocolate chip cookies.

Donna Kelce, 71, came across a mug that caught her eye while shopping online, emblazoned with the words “It’s Mama Kelce’s world and we’re just living in it.” She loved it so much that she purchased 20 of the mugs as Christmas gifts for loved ones. These mugs are no ordinary mugs – they contain the entire recipe and directions for Donna Kelce’s cookie recipe and sell for about $18 each. They were created by a small business in the Kansas City area, Annie’s Barn. With each mug sold, $5 goes towards paying off elementary school lunch debt.

After the mug caught Donna’s eye, Annie Stowe from Annie’s Barn reached out to her and asked if she would be willing to donate her cookie recipe to the project. The mugs sold enough to pay off roughly $2,000 in lunch debt at a school in the Kansas City area within two weeks. However, Donna Kelce has not yet responded to Stowe’s request to help deliver checks to the schools. Stowe plans to deliver checks to Pawnee Elementary in Overland Park, Kansas as well as two schools in Olathe, Kansas.

Donna Kelce became famous for her cookies after making some for her sons Travis and Jason before they met in Super Bowl LVII in February 2023. The cookies are special because they are flat and more like toffee cookies – this was something that Donna confirmed when she reached out to Stowe. While Donna is currently busy watching Travis and the Kansas City Chiefs play against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVI, sports fans interested in supporting this cause can visit Annie’s Barn’s website and purchase a “Mama Kelce” mug. They can be sure they will get a really good cookie recipe too!
