Annual Blood Drive Hosted by SCTC Health Science

In celebration of Career and Technical Education Month, the health science department at Simpson County Technical Center (SCTC) partnered with Mississippi Blood Services to host a successful spring blood drive on Feb. 6. Over 20 pints of blood were collected, potentially saving many lives.

Students enrolled in the health science program at SCTC gained valuable skills through their involvement in this event. They had the opportunity to learn about event planning, teamwork, communication, and community engagement. Additionally, they developed an understanding of the significance of blood donations in healthcare, which helped to foster empathy and a sense of social responsibility.

Brenda White, the health science instructor, played a crucial role in organizing this event, and SCTC appreciates her hard work in making it a successful and impactful initiative. This event was not only beneficial for the students but also for the community as a whole.
