Taylor Heise values the opportunity to be on the ice with people who have made significant contributions to the sport of hockey. She sees it as a privilege to learn from them every day. Her appreciation for the sport and those involved in it is evident in her dedication and hard work.

Heise was selected as the first overall pick in the inaugural PWHL Draft last year. This upcoming World Championship will be her sixth, with the senior team for the third time. The USA will be facing Switzerland in the preliminary round on Wednesday night, showcasing Heise’s talents on an international stage.

As a 24-year-old forward for the U.S. Women’s National Team, Heise recognizes the sacrifices made both on and off the ice to reach the level she is at today. She acknowledges the growth of women’s sports and the impact of those who have contributed to the development of the league.

Having been drafted by her home state team, Minnesota, in the PWHL, Heise has showcased her skills in the league. Transitioning to Team USA for the IIHF Women’s World Championship in Utica, she is prepared to bring the same level of play to the national team, representing her country with pride.

Coming from a basketball family, Heise chose the path of hockey early on and never looked back. Her passion for the sport led her to excel at the University of Minnesota before being drafted into the PWHL. Now, as she prepares for her sixth World Championship and third with the senior team, Heise feels grateful for the opportunity and honored to be part of such a prestigious program.
