The first week of February 2024 will mark the end of an era in football, as Lionel Messi (36) and Cristiano Ronaldo (38) face off in their last match together. The two football legends have met 37 times on the field, with Messi slightly more successful than Ronaldo. However, nine of their matches ended in a draw.

On that day, Inter Miami and Al-Nassr will meet in Riyadh for the Riyadh Season Cup mini-tournament. Al Hilal will also be participating in the tournament, which will be played in a league format. The exact schedule has yet to be announced, but it is clear that this will be a memorable event for football fans around the world.

Marcelo Brozović, a member of the Croatian national team, will be directly involved in the “last dance” as Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammate. If that match had been played a few months later, Luka Modrić may have also been present, as all participants in the tournament are potential clubs for continuing his career. However, only next summer we can see if Modrić will join them on this historic occasion.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have set boundaries and changed the sport forever with their rivalry on and off the field. While there may always be debates about who is greater, everyone can agree that this duo has left an indelible mark on football history.
