Titans and QB Mason Rudolph reach agreement on 1-year contract worth up to $3.62M

The Tennessee Titans have made moves in their quarterback room this offseason, adding former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph to the mix on a one-year deal worth up to $3.62 million. Rudolph joins rookie quarterback Will Levis and third-year passer Malik Willis in the Titans’ quarterback room.

Rudolph, 28, spent six seasons with the Steelers after being drafted in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft. In his career, he has amassed 3,085 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in 21 games, with an 8-4-1 record in 13 starts. Rudolph stepped up for the Steelers last season while Kenny Pickett was injured and helped them make the playoffs. Now, he is looking forward to a fresh start in Tennessee.

The addition of Rudolph comes at the beginning of a new era for the Titans, who recently hired Brian Callahan as their new head coach after firing Mike Vrabel. The team has also made notable moves in free agency, signing wide receiver Calvin Ridley to a four-year, $92 million deal and seeing franchise running back Derrick Henry depart for the Baltimore Ravens.

With veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill likely on his way out, the Titans are focused on building a harmonious quarterback room. Callahan emphasized the importance of finding a backup quarterback who can support the starter and contribute positively to the team dynamic. It seems like Rudolph and Levis have been identified as the right fit for the Titans as they look ahead to the upcoming season.
