Visitor center opens science exhibits

The North Tahoe Chamber recently announced the opening of exhibits at the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center. These exhibits are located at the North Lake Tahoe Visitor Center in Tahoe City and are designed to educate the public about the Lake Tahoe environment and destination stewardship concepts.

The exhibits at the visitor center are free to access and include interactive displays such as a microplastics exhibit and a sandbox that allows visitors to create a watershed and understand how it works. There is also a touchscreen display featuring Tahoe In Depth information about the weather, lake conditions, activities, river conditions, and Citizen Science. Additionally, a video exhibit offers 10 educational videos for visitors to learn more about the environment and conservation efforts.

The North Lake Tahoe Visitor Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and provides a great opportunity for locals and tourists alike to learn more about the importance of protecting Lake Tahoe and its surrounding environment. For more information, visit northtahoecommunityalliance.com.
