Elon Musk, the owner of social network X, has been criticized by the White House for promoting anti-Semitism. The White House has condemned Musk’s recent comments, stating that they go against the core values of Americans. The comments from Musk, such as his affirmative response to a post on X that “Jews are fueling hatred of whites” and his comment “You speak the truth,” have sparked outrage.
The White House spokesperson emphasized the importance of unity against hate and the responsibility to speak out against attacks on the dignity of fellow Americans. They described spreading such lies as unacceptable, especially given the increase in anti-Semitic incidents since the war between Israel and Hamas. Many companies and organizations are now suspending their advertisements on X in protest against the increasing disinformation and hate messages on the social media platform. Some of these entities include IBM, Lions Gate Entertainment, Apple, Tesla investors, and Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz who has gone as far as calling for Musk to resign as Tesla CEO.
