Vinecki takes first place in aerials World Cup in Lac-Beauport, regains top spot in World Cup standings

On a rainy and cloudy day in Lac-Beauport, Canada, Winter Vinecki earned her third individual win of the season in the aerials event. The US team had a strong showing, with five women and two men advancing to the finals. This included Vinecki, who had missed out on the previous day’s finals but qualified in the second position on Sunday.

In the finals, Vinecki almost lost her balance but her score was enough to put her in sixth place and advance into the super finals. Chris Lillis fell hard in the finals but avoided injury.

Vinecki came out on top in the final round by performing a back lay-full-full as the only woman attempting a triple. This led her to her third individual win and fourth overall win of the season, earning her the yellow leader’s bib. After a rest and training period, the team is headed to Almaty, Kazakhstan for their final World Cup of the season on March 10th.
