In the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship, the No. 15 Ohio State women’s basketball team defeated East Carolina 79-55. Jacy Sheldon led the Buckeyes with 20 points while Taylor Thierry contributed 14 points and eight rebounds. The team’s next game will be against Oklahoma State.
Ohio State got off to a strong start, scoring the first 10 points of the game and maintaining a 21-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. However, East Carolina’s Synia Johnson led a comeback in the second quarter, scoring eight of her 14 points to bring ECU within 38-32 at halftime. But Ohio State came out strong in the second half, scoring 11 of the first 13 points to take a 49-34 lead and maintained a double-digit advantage for the rest of the game.
