Chautauqua Christian Academy’s Sawyer Lynn made a clutch go-ahead 3-pointer in the final minute of overtime, leading the Defenders to a 67-60 victory over Faith Christian of West Virginia in the National Christian School basketball tournament consolation game. The team had a strong showing overall, finishing third in Division 5 after a loss to the eventual champions in the quarterfinals.

In the consolation game, the Defenders showcased their resilience by mounting a comeback from a five-point deficit in the final minute of regulation. Marcus Ryan and Sawyer Lynn scored crucial baskets to force overtime, where the team maintained their momentum and secured the win. Lynn’s 19 points, including three 3-pointers, played a key role in the victory. Junior Marcus Ryan stood out with an impressive 34-point performance, while Hunter Edwards contributed 10 rebounds and Kayden Peterson excelled on defense throughout the season. Both Ryan and Lynn earned spots on the All-Tournament team for their standout performances.
