FSU’s Forensic Science Program Granted Five-Year FEPAC Re-Accreditation

Fayetteville State University’s Forensic Science Program, part of the Department of Biological and Forensic Sciences, has been granted re-accreditation by the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC) for the period of 2024-2029. Department chair Danielle Graham, Ph.D., expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting the commitment to providing students with a high-quality education in forensic science.

The accreditation process involves a thorough year-long evaluation, including a self-study and on-campus site visit to assess facilities, engage with faculty, students, and administrators, and ensure compliance with FEPAC’s rigorous standards. FSU is the first and only Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in North Carolina to receive this accreditation, showcasing the program’s effectiveness in preparing students for success in the field.

Under the leadership of Forensic Science Director Khalid Lodhi, Ph.D., the program has been shaping future forensic scientists since its establishment in 2006. With its initial accreditation in 2017, the program has consistently maintained high standards of quality and professionalism. Graduates of the program are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue careers as forensic scientists or further studies in related fields.

The success of FSU’s Forensic Science Program in placing graduates in the workforce or advanced degree programs reflects its dedication to excellence. With the re-accreditation by FEPAC, the program is poised to continue its legacy of providing top-tier education in forensic science and preparing students for the challenges of the real world.
